Analysis – Strategy - Implementation

The path from a scientific result to a problem solution in arable farming can be complex. It is crucial to include the customers' and markets' point of view at a very early stage.

Tests in laboratory, greenhouse and field

Starting with the clearly defined experimental question, the time and scope of testing an effect must be determined. Financial resources are usually scarce, so that the sequence of steps from the laboratory to the field must be carefully weighed up. It is usually crucial to develop culture, location and test design together with a qualified field technician.

Proof of feasibility for a product

The type of effect and the reliability of a product are at the top of the list for the customer. The farmer wants to be convinced based on data and facts. Classic chemical crop protection agents and mineral fertilizers are increasingly being supplemented or replaced by biological processes (biocontrol, biostimulants), which should also have a clear application and efficacy profile.

Economic expertise right from the start

Project staff and financiers want to understand early on what is behind an idea economically. The initial assessment of the possibilities in the European market is the basis for indicators such as area/quantities, costs/prices and turnover/profit. At the same time, customers and market partners should be identified. This is the only way to lead a project to economic success.
